New Fluid Technology Update Dec 2020
To our dear investors and all pump enthusiasts, the board of New Fluid Technology
( Australia) Pty Ltd are pleased to provide you with an update on our activities.
Its been some time between updates but as you will learn the wait has been worthwhile. We are happy to advise or perhaps a better word is to proclaim NFT as the very first Co to invent, patent and develop to full production ready pumps utilizing a totally different law of physics. That being our “Solid Body Vorticity” (SBV) based pumps. Which we currently license under the brand “Supa-Stelth” because they are super efficient and stealthily quiet. Through the much valued assistance of our Chinese partners and Purity pumps ( China) we have now full production pump models made from cast iron (CI) available for sale. To begin with there are three models 600watts, 800watts and a powerful 7.5Kwatts. If it were not for Covid 19 these pumps would likely be on sale already here in Australia. Hopefully sales initiatives can begin in the first qtr of 2021. These pumps have been tested in several laboratories around the world and conclusively prove that energy savings of up to 50% over conventional pumps have been achieved. In addition these are the worlds most quiet pumps as they do not use volutes or diffusers to realize a pressure gain.
Most importantly NFT pumps simply cannot cavitate again a world first.
NFT to build a new generation of pumps
NFT is delighted to report that we are close to developing the worlds smallest, most powerful, and most energy efficient pump ever conceived. This small pump is again being co-developed in China by Purity Pumps and is designed initially with a tiny 77mm impeller to operate out to
6000rpm. Only NFT can increase RPM above standard (50hz 3000rpm and 60hz 3600rpm) because Supa-Stelth pumps can not ever cause cavitation. Primarily because our impeller is used only to prime our pumps and once the solid body vortex is formed takes over all functions from our impeller. The vortex outer perimeter having of course no tips or vanes cannot travel too fast as conventional impeller tips can so cavitation can not be created. The motor to function at our maximum Rpm is being developed with all associated software. Its an enormous task and is almost totally funded by our Chinese partners. This pump will certainly attract global acclaim as a world first integrated with our patented wet-end. Power consumption varies with RPM ( according to the affinity rules ) and estimated to consume between 300watts to 2500watts at full rpm. 2.5kw was chosen because that is generally accepted as the maximum wattage that can safely be plugged into standard wall sockets world wide.Pumps that consume under 2.5kw pumps are also over approx 80% of all pumps manufactured . At the moment the world tries on multi stage pumps to increase KPA or head. Our pump will require just one impeller and simply increase the rpm so it will be a kind of one shoe size fits all type.
We hope to provide you pictures and further details of the first manufactured pumps soon.
INDIAN FARMERS SOLAR PUMP DEVELOPMENT
NFT are pleased to report our progress is continuing with our co-development with Rotomag of India on a LOW SPEED variable drive (VD) pump specifically to run on solar power. As with many VD pumps ( including pool pumps) as rpm is reduced the pump efficiency decreases also. The advantage being with NFT based VD pumps the drop in efficiency is much less than is with conventional pumps as the rpm is decreased. The only reason Pump Co`s clients benefit from lower RPM`s is that the overall “system efficiency” actually increases as the velocity of the water is reduce through the system. For example if the Rpm is halved say from 3000 rpm to 1500rpm the savings from the reduction in pipe friction etc decreases power consumption by eight times.
On its web site a major Pool pump maker freely admits when the consumer is saving 90% on his energy bill the pump is operating at just 10% efficiency! If we take a slight diversion here this is a legislators night mare in both USA and Europe where the new MEI ( minimum energy standards) for pumps has been already introduced. Globally legislators still have not yet worked out how to apply their energy consumption testing with regards to best efficiency points (BEP) other wise known as duty points to pool/spa pumps. We might as well also add our own points of concern with the way we feel this legislation is basically a slight of hand and helps in at least some industries no one. If you look closely at the parameters of all of the major brands of VD (using the pool pump industry as the example) yes these VD pumps do save the pool owner up to 90% of their running costs but then burden every other home owner with extra electricity charges. How so u may ask? These VD pumps have a peculiarity of a thing called “power factor”. Ideally a power factor should be 1:1 meaning for every unit of electricity supplied to the VD motor 1 unit of power should be consumed. That is not the case currently and our own tests have verified the manufacturers own data and they all have motors with power factors of between .5 to .8. What that means is even though the pumps are in themselves reasonably efficient of over 80% the power supplied to them can not be used. So the unintended result is for example here in Australia we have 1.1m pools and if say the average pump is consuming 1kw it means that 1.1m kw is being consumed BUT the power stations have to be built to be able to supply an extra 50% of power or 1.6m kWs! The expense of building the capital infrastructure to provide up to 50% more power than is needed is no savings at all! This xtra expense is then distributed to all tax payers pool or no pool. Food for thought.
With all this as back ground information NFT are working on our own variable (slow) speed solar pump that is far more efficient than what is currently available. The above picture is of the 1st prototype we have built. Unfortunately a small manufacturing error made the assembled pump leak and we have now redesigning the pump to remedy this problem.
Indian solar pumps are heavily subsidized by the Indian government and it is Indias plan that over 80million small plot farmers will be connected to solar pumps like this over the next 15 years.
The very high litres per watt hour of Supa -Stelth (SBV) based pumps allow for solar pumping systems to have up to 50% less solar panels for the same qty of water to be delivered for each hour of sunlight. So the advantages are massive just half the capital cost to operate a SS pump from sunlight.
Our large 7.5 Kwatt Pump
This is the largest production pump we have built to date it weighs a hefty 75Kg
This is a 3 phase pump and is the only pump of this size that of course can not cavitate. We have some
samples being shipped to India for testing soon.
Koller whirlpool of CZ manufacture (under license) our Supa-Stelth technology for their spa baths
Koller Whirlpool of CZ is one of the leaders in spa bath manufacture in Europe. They have chosen our Supa-Stelth pumps for their premier bath range. Particularly the low noise actor and energy savings. To date they have sold over 50,000 pumps. We look forward to licensing additional models in the future.
Koller promote our SS pumps around the world.
This display of GOLD Supa-Stelth pumps and bar graphs of superiority was in Moscow
For those that are not aware of Solid Body Vorticity which is the patented principle of operation of Supa-Stelth pumps we are happy to email u upon request a Power Point presentation at no cost. If you would like your friends or colleagues to receive our news letters by all means send us the addresses for future updates.
Your Directors thank you for your continued support.
